About Us
The Zuñiga (pronounced zoo-knee-ga) story began when Cecilia Zuñiga Sibelian started preparing homemade, hand-diced salsas for pot lucks and family get-togethers. Through numerous revisions, she was able to capture the subtle flavors of Old Mexico with contemporary tastes.
Her salsa became a party favorite and many asked for the recipe. On one fateful occasion, a friend of Cecilia requested four containers for a weekend party and was willing to pay for them. From this innocent request an idea was born.
What makes Zuñiga’s salsa taste so good? Our salsa is also unique.
Although mild, inside each container is a fresh serrano chili pepper to chop, slice, dice or simply set aside so you can add the perfect amount of heat to your salsa. Have it HOT or NOT. We also have a HOT or HOTTER that starts out hot and has a serreno pepper as well so that you can increase the heat even more. The choice is yours.
In the future, Zuñiga Foods will add a line of freshly made salsas, sauces and unique salad dressings. Our recipes for chili verde, birria, enchilada, and de molcajete as well as a superb fresh guacamole are in the works.
